Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills led the offense on a pair of scoring drives in Thursday evening's preseason opener versus the Chicago Bears in Canton, Ohio.

Despite the game ending with a forgettable third quarter, bright spots included Case Keenum, Davis Mills, and Cam Akers. Xavier Hutchinson also shined with five grabs for 56 yards. The offensive line, in the first half, played well enough to help earn the halftime edge.

Here are five things to watch when the Houston Texans kick off the 2024 NFL preseason in the Hall of Fame Game against the Chicago Bears on August 1 at 7:00 p.m. CT

Competing for playing time with Dalton Schultz will be veterans Brevin Jordan and Teagan Quitoriano and rookie Cade Stover, the fourth-round pick from Ohio State who was C.J. Stroud's teammate with the Buckeyes, and second-year player Dalton Keene.

"I don't know if it's really sunk in yet," Johnson said. "It might not until I walk across that stage in Canton."
