The Texans announced Friday that tight end Owen Daniels Daniels signed his restricted free agent tender offer.

Texans tight end Owen Daniels signed his restricted free agent tender offer. Houston has signed fourth-round draft pick linebacker Darryl Sharpton. Sharpton is the fourth of the Texans' nine draft picks to sign with the team, joining wide receiver Trindon Holliday, cornerback Sherrick McManis and defensive tackle Earl Mitchell.

Daniels (6-3, 245) was drafted in the fourth round (99th overall) by the Texans in 2006. He started the first eight games of the 2009 season before being placed on the reserve/injured list with a knee injury. Daniels finished the season with 40 catches for 519 yards and five touchdowns and ranked third on the team in touchdown receptions.

"I looked at the high tender that they put on me, the max tender, as a really positive thing," Daniels said in March during a televised appearance on ESPN. "If they didn't want me around, they could've tendered me at a lower amount. That's saying that they want me around, they want me to be their guy, so I'm looking at it as positively as I can. I want to be in Houston. I love playing there, love the city, love playing for Coach (Gary) Kubiak. That's where I want to be."

Daniels is second in Texans history with 207 receptions and 2,501 receiving yards and third in touchdowns with 15 in 54 career games.

Sharpton (5-11, 244) was selected with the 102nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Miami (Fla.). He was a versatile linebacker in college, starting 30 of 52 games for the Hurricanes including 18 at middle linebacker, nine at strongside and three at weakside. During his career, he recorded 255 tackles (154 solo). He had 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and nine passes defensed.

As a senior, the Miami native started the final 12 games at middle linebacker and led the team with a career-high 106 tackles (65 solo).

The Texans have waived safety Aaron Webster and waived/injured wide receiver Trey Stross.

Following are the 2010 draft picks that the Texans have signed:
