Jayden Higgins is a Texan.

Houston selected the Iowa State wide receiver with the 34th overall pick Friday night in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Higgins caught 87 passes for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Cyclones, and moments after being selected, he shared how thrilled he was to be a Texan.

"I just feel blessed," Higgins said. "I got that call and my family and me, we were just super excited. I'm happy and ready to play for a great organization."

Standing 6-4 and weighing 214 pounds, Higgins has been clocked at 4.47 seconds in the 40-yard dash. An incredibly productive pass-catcher during his college days, Higgins is looking to continue that in the NFL with Houston.

"I'm just a player that's going to come in and make plays no matter where I'm at on the field," Higgins said. "I'm someone that's going to be reliable and explosive. At the end of the day, I'm going to be that guy that that comes in and just makes the team better right away."

His measurables have drawn comparisons to Pro Bowl wideout and new teammate Nico Collins, and Higgins smiled when he was asked about their similarities.

"Nico is a great, great player," Higgins said. "it's going to be great to be on the other side and just make plays."

The Texans next pick is in the second round at 58th overall. In total, they entered Friday evening with 10 selections in this year's Draft.
