Peek placed on IR

HOUSTON - The Houston Texans announced today that they have placed their eleventh player, LB Antwan Peek (right shoulder), on the Reserve/Injured list. They have signed LB D.D. Acholonu (Ah-cha-law-new) from their practice squad to their active roster.

Peek (6-3, 238) injured his shoulder in Jacksonville following his first career touchdown. With three minutes remaining in the game, the Cincinnati native extended the ball over the goal line and landed on his shoulder.

Peek finished the season with 12 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, one interception and one fumble recovery. He led special teams with 18 tackles. Peek also recorded the only Texans blocked punt of 2004 at Denver on November 7.

Acholonu (6-3, 230) was claimed off waivers from the Buffalo Bills on June 28. The former defensive end from Washington State was converted to outside linebacker during training camp. Acholonu finished his senior season with 16.5 sacks to lead the Pac-10.
