Texans release Echemandu; sign Robinson, Beach

Echemandu played sparingly after rookie running back Darius Walker's emergence.

The Texans have signed defensive tackle DelJuan Robinson from their practice squad to the active roster, waived running back Adimchinobi Echemandu and signed running back Arliss Beach to the practice squad, it was announced today.

Robinson (6-3, 296) was signed by the Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2007 after spending his colligate days at Mississippi State. He started 28 games recording 104 tackles and 18 for loss during his four seasons. During the preseason, Robinson finished with four tackles and a half sack. He was signed to the Texans practice squad on September 3.

Beach (5-10, 219) was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent from the University of Kentucky on May 5, 2006. He spent the 2006 season on injured reserve. He was released by the Packers this spring and signed with the Dallas Cowboys on Aug. 23, 2007. He was released by Dallas on Sept. 1.

While at Kentucky, Beach finished his career with 951 yards on 226 carries and 14 touchdowns.

Echemandu played in seven games with the Texans finishing with 85 yards on 25 carries.
