Cy Springs' Robert Blackshear Named Texans Coach of the Week

HOUSTON- This week's Houston Texans Coach of the Week Award goes to Head Coach Robert Blackshear of Cy Springs. Coach Blackshear's Panthers are tied for the top spot in District 16-5A after beating Jersey Village 14-13.

Cy Springs overcame a 13-point halftime deficit with two third quarter touchdowns by running back Wayne Singleton. Singleton, the District's leading rusher, finished with a game-high 170 yards on 24 carries.

Cy Springs High School will receive a $1,000 grant in Coach Blackshear's name for winning the Coach of the Week Award. For his accomplishment, Coach Blackshear will be recognized by Texans Head Coach Dom Capers on his radio show, on HoustonTexans.com and NFLHS.com, on the JumboTron at Reliant Stadium, and at a pre-game on-field ceremony at the Texans vs. Titans game on December 21.
