NEW YORK (Oct. 23, 2003) -- Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Running back DOMANICK DAVIS of the Houston Texans is the NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on October 19-20, the NFL announced today.

Davis rushed for 129 yards on 27 carries and caught nine passes for 70 yards in the Texans' 19-14 loss to the New York Jets. Davis, in his first career start, became the first 100-yard rusher in Texans history with his first career 100-yard game.
Davis is the second Texans player this season to win the honor. Wide receiver ANDRE JOHNSONwon after Houston's Week 4 win over Jacksonville.
More than
27,000 fans voted this week on NFL.com. Davis was selected from
among five finalists. The other finalists were Baltimore Ravens
quarterback **KYLE BOLLER**, St. Louis Rams running back **ARLEN
HARRIS**, Minnesota Vikings running back **ONTERRIO SMITH** and
Seattle Seahawks cornerback **MARCUS TRUFANT**.
