Davis wins third consecutive NFL Rookie of the Week honor

Voters on have made their choice. Running backDOMANICK DAVIS of the Houston Texans is the NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on November 2-3, the NFL announced today.


Davis rushed for 74 yards on 12 carries in the Texans' 14-10 win over Carolina. He leads all rookies with 483 yards rushing and has rushed for 312 yards in his last three games.

More than 23,000 fans voted this week on Davis, who was selected from among five finalists, is the first player to win the award in three consecutive weeks. The other finalists were Arizona Cardinals wide receiverANQUAN BOLDIN, Chicago Bears linebackerLANCE BRIGGS, St. Louis Rams linebackerPISA TINOISAMOA and Seattle Seahawks cornerbackMARCUS TRUFANT.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston.
