Johnson named NFL Rookie of the Week

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Wide receiverANDRE JOHNSON of the Houston Texans is theNFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for games played on November 16-17, the NFL announced today.

Johnson caught four passes for 122 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 12-10 win over Buffalo. His 46-yard touchdown reception was the only touchdown of the game and gave the Texans a 6-5 lead at the end of the first half.

More than 95,000 fans voted this week on NFL.com. Johnson, who also won the award in week four, was selected from among five finalists. The other finalists were Green Bay Packers linebackerNICK BARNETT, Indianapolis Colts tight endDALLAS CLARK, Chicago Bears cornerbackCHARLES TILLMAN and Minnesota Vikings defensive endKEVIN WILLIAMS.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston.
