Mayor proclaims 'Battle Red Day'

In preparation for the November 2, 2003 Houston Texans vs. Carolina Panthers first ever "Battle Red" game, Mayor Lee P. Brown will proclaim October 21, 2003 as Houston Texans "Battle Red" Day in the Bayou City.

The Houston Texans will show their gratitude and support for the American Red Cross and the U.S. military during the November 2, 2003 home game. As a sign of unity, respect and Texans pride, players will don (for the first time in team history) "Battle Red" jerseys. Fans are asked to join the players, cheerleaders and TORO (by wearing "Battle Red") in honoring the organizations that truly embody the ideals of the Houston Texans organization – pride, strength, tradition, courage and independence.
