Get to know Tyrod:

  • Taylor's first name is usually mispronounced. The correct pronunciation is Tuh-ROD. His nickname is Ty.
  • He is one of five quarterbacks since 2015 to total at least 8,000 passing yards and 1,500 rushing yards, along with Josh Allen, Cam Newton, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson.
  • In just three seasons with the Buffalo Bills (2015-17), Taylor set multiple franchise records. He holds the best completion percentage (62.6) in the Bills team history (minimum 500 attempts) and ranks third in rushing touchdowns (14) by a quarterback. In 2017, he led the Bills to their first playoff berth since 1995, ending a 17-year postseason drought in Buffalo.
  • In 2015, Taylor threw 222-consecutive pass attempts without an interception, setting a Bills franchise record. He also played in his first Pro Bowl that year.
  • Taylor earned a Super Bowl ring with the 2012 Baltimore Ravens. In his second year with the team, Taylor appeared in seven regular season games and scored his first-career rushing touchdown in Week 17 at Cincinnati.
  • Taylor appeared in the 2018 season of Hard Knocks as the veteran quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.
  • During his senior year at Virginia Tech, Taylor led the Hokies to an ACC Championship and was named the game's MVP with his performance, throwing three touchdown passes and rushing for one against Florida State.
  • Coming out of high school, Taylor was rated the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com. He earned first-team All-State twice and was named the 2006 Gatorade Player of the Year in Virginia.
  • After being backup to Philip Rivers, Taylor earned the starting quarterback job for the Chargers in 2020.
  • Taylor started the Tyrod Taylor Foundation to give back to his home state of Virginia.
