HOUSTON – The second annual Running of the Bulls 5K Run/Walk, presented by H-E-B, is sold out, the Houston Texans announced today. There will be no on-site registration, and no registration at the packet pick-up locations. The race will take place Sunday morning, Sept. 23, at Reliant Stadium and will start at 8:00 a.m. CDT. It will be accompanied by the TORO's Kids 1K presented by Aramark for children age 12 and younger.
Race entrants may pick up their packets Friday from 3-8pm at the Academy Sports Outdoors location at I-10 and Bunker Hill and Saturday from 10-2pm at the Academy Sports Outdoors in Pearland.
Proceeds from the run/walk will benefit the Houston Texans Foundation and The Methodist Hospital System.
The route for the 5K run/walk will go throughout Reliant Park with interactive water stops featuring TORO, the Houston Texans Cheerleaders, the Bull Pen Pep Band and more. The race will conclude on the floor at Reliant Stadium, with runners crossing through the bull tunnel that the Texans players run through on game days.
The run is chip-timed and is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. The first-place overall finishers in the male and female divisions will each receive a Running of the Bulls trophy along with a pair of tickets and parking pass to the Texans' home game vs. the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, November 4.
Awards will also be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age brackets: 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and above.
All entrants will receive a commemorative Running of the Bulls 5k t-shirt and will also be automatically entered in a raffle for Texans prizes and giveaways. All runners will also be invited to a special post-race party at Reliant Stadium.
