Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Schaub also is nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors. Vote for him **HERE**.

Schaub threw for 527 yards and five touchdowns on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, leading the Texans back from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit for a 43-37 victory in overtime. He completed 43-of-55 passes (78.2 perecent), including the game-winning 48-yard touchdown to wide receiver Andre Johnson. Schaub tied Houston Oilers Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon for the second-most passing yards in a game in NFL history.

"It's fun to go out every now and then to throw it around as a quarterback and spread guys and use all the weapons at your disposal," Schaub said on Tuesday. "Our team is built a certain way and we don't want to get to that if we don't have to. It just shows that we can do it and that we can win in many different ways."

This is the fourth time Schaub has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He previously won it in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Schaub has completed 65.5 percent of his passes this season for 2,540 yards, 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He ranks eighth in the NFL and fourth in the AFC with a 96.8 passer rating. He has won 13 of his last 14 starts dating back to last season.
