The NFL announced today that quarterback Matt Schaub has been nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week honors for his Week 3 performance at Denver. Schaub received a game ball from coach Gary Kubiak after completing 17-of-30 passes for 290 yards with four touchdowns in the Texans' 31-25 road win.

Schaub overcame a bloody ear resulting from an illegal hit to lead Houston to victory.

"I told Matt five times today, he's the man," left tackle Duane Brown![](/team/roster/duane-brown/92cd6331-afae-48bd-b370-c6aa9c2ea035/ "Duane Brown") said on Sunday. "I've been telling people for a long time that he's an elite quarterback and we have to put him up there with the best in the league, and he showed it today. He stood in the pocket, took some brutal shots and never blinked. He put up big numbers against a pretty good secondary."

Fans can vote for Schaub at NFL.com/FedEx through 2 p.m. CST on Friday to determine the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week. The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

Other nominees for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award include Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and Titans quarterback Jake Locker.

As part of the FedEx Air & Ground program and its commitment to small business owners, FedEx will support education efforts at Junior Achievement by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players' names. The funding, allocated to local Junior Achievement area offices in that team's city or state, is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.
