Proceeds from online auction benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston
HOUSTON – The Houston Texans and XFINITY are partnering to auction off more than 20 practice jerseys worn by Texans players during this year's training camp, the two companies announced today.
The online auction opened this morning and will run through 1:00 a.m. CDT on Sunday, September 4. To place a bid on one (or more) of the jerseys, fans can visit www.NFL.com/Auction. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston through the Houston Texans Foundation.
XFINITY, the new brand of products introduced by Comcast in February, is the presenting sponsor of the Houston Texans 2011 Training Camp. Each player's practice jersey has an XFINITY patch affixed to the front left shoulder.
At the conclusion of training camp, the jerseys will be professionally cleaned and the players will each autograph their jersey before it is sent to the winning bidder. Among the more than 20 players whose jerseys will be available are WR Andre Johnson, QB Matt Schaub, RB Arian Foster, ILB DeMeco Ryans and first-round draft pick DE J.J. Watt.
