Texans dismiss Capers

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans announced today that they have dismissed head coach Dom Capers.

Capers and staff compiled an 18-46 record with the Texans. Their best season came in 2004 when Houston finished with a 7-9 record, third in the AFC South. The Texans completed the 2005 season with a 2-14 record and will pick first in the 2006 NFL draft.

"After a disappointing 2-14 campaign this season we had to make a change," said Texans owner Bob McNair.  "We will begin looking for qualified candidates immediately to fill our vacancy and get the Texans moving in the right direction in 2006."
