Texans encourage fans to wear white Sunday

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans are encouraging all Texans fans to wear white at this Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins and join the team in wearing its Liberty White uniforms.  The game kicks off at Noon CT at NRG Stadium. The Texans have donned all-white for their home opener in six of the last seven seasons.

Fans are reminded to adhere to the NFL's Clear Bag Policy.  Only bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12"W x 12"H x 6"D will be permitted in NRG Stadium.

BHP Billiton will be handing out 40,000 Liberty White Out t-shirts at gates upon entry. The first 40,000 fans to enter will also receive a white NRG Power Towel.

The Texans are also asking all fans to be in their seats early to witness TORO's pregame swing stunt and Eli Young Band's new rendition of Deep in the Heart of Texas, a new pregame ritual being introduced on Sunday.

A field-sized American flag will be unfurled for the national anthem, to be performed by acclaimed country artist, Clay Walker. The flag will be held by first responders, including police officers and fire fighters, as well as players and coaches from both teams. Local heroes Captain Hawthorne and E.O. Wyble from the Houston Fire Department will lead the team onto the field as Homefield Advantage Captains.

Smash Mouth's much anticipated halftime performance will feature their hit songs, I'm a Believer, All Star and Can't Get Enough Of You Baby, and a routine by the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. Smash Mouth has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.

The Houston Texans Cheerleader calendar girls will be signing autographs for fans in Budweiser Plaza after the game.
