The championship event will take place on the field prior to kickoff of the Texans-Bucs game.

HOUSTON –The 2007 Houston Texans Punt, Pass & Kick Team Championship will take place at the Methodist Training Center on December 9, prior to the Texans' game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The children will participate in a punt, pass & kick exhibition on the field prior to kickoff.

Forty children, ages 8-15, have advanced to the Texans Team Championship after placing first in a sectional competition earlier this year. The top four scorers from all the first place finalists in each age division in both the boys' and girls' age groups from the Team Championship will represent the Texans in the national finals. These winners, plus two parents or guardians, will travel to the finals at an NFL playoff game in January.

The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program was designed to create a lively and engaging forum for boys and girls, ages 8-15, to compete separately against their peers in punting, passing and placekicking skills. The NFL wants every child to be given an equal opportunity to compete. Therefore, there is no registration fee or purchase required for any participant to enter.
