Texans make more roster moves

HOUSTON - The Houston Texans made the following roster moves, it was announced today. They signed S Curry Burns to the active roster and signed LB Kevin Deronde and RB Travis Stephens to the practice squad.

The Texans signed Burns (6-0, 212) from Oakland's practice squad. Before joining the Raiders, he was originally drafted by the Texans in the seventh round (217 overall) out of Louisville.

Deronde (6-5, 259) originally signed with the Dallas Cowboys (4/26/02) out of Iowa State and was released at the end of camp. The Cowboys resigned Deronde (1/28/03) and allocated him to the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe for the 2003 season. He started 10 games and recorded a team-leading four sacks, 24 tackles and one forced fumble.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Stephens (5-8, 194) in the fourth round (119th overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft. His rookie season was cut short after he was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a dislocated toe (11/15/02).
