HOUSTON- The Houston Texans announce Vice Chairman D. Cal McNair has assumed the additional duties of Chief Operating Officer and Suzie Thomas has been promoted to Executive Vice President/General Counsel.

"Cal and Suzie both occupy very important positions in our organization," Texans Founder, Chairman and CEO Bob McNair said.  "I am pleased that they will represent the Texans in these very important leadership roles."

Cal McNair was named vice chairman of the Houston Texans in January 2008. He has been instrumental in working with Executive VP/General Manager Rick Smith and Head Coach Gary Kubiak in the management of the Texans football operations and represents the Texans at NFL meetings.

Prior to working with the Texans on a full-time basis, Cal McNair served as the vice chairman of Palmetto Partners, Ltd., the private equity investing arm of The McNair Group.  He has been affiliated with the Texans since 2001 as a limited partner.

"I look forward to continuing to build on the success of the Texans," said Cal McNair. "We are looking to enhance our processes as we move toward our ultimate goal of winning championships."

Cal McNair served on the search committee in the process of hiring both Kubiak and Smith during the 2006 offseason.

Cal McNair attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a four-year member of the Longhorn football team. He earned a master of business administration degree from Rice University's Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management.

Thomas joined the Houston Texans and the McNair Group in March 2000 as Vice President/General Counsel. She oversees the legal, human resources and business administration functions for both groups and holds positions with various other entities in The McNair Group.

Thomas previously served as general counsel and vice president of human resources of Corporate Brand Foods America, Inc. Prior to CBFA, Thomas spent 16 years at Weatherford International, Inc., an international energy service and manufacturing company, the last 12 years as senior vice president and general counsel.

"I am appreciative of the opportunity Bob has given me with the Texans," said Thomas. "I have enjoyed working with our team to build the Texans franchise and look forward to our bright future."

Thomas earned her law degree from the University of Houston's Bates College of Law and her undergraduate degree in Spanish from the University of Texas.  She currently serves as the chair of Child Advocates, Inc.
