Texans place Foreman on IR

HOUSTON - Houston Texans LB Jay Foreman was placed on the Reserve/Injured list and will miss the remainder of the season, it was announced today. He incurred a high ankle sprain in yesterday's game against the Jets (12/5/04).

After not missing a start in the Texans first 42 games, Foreman injured his shoulder and missed his first start since joining the Texans two weeks ago against the Titans. He returned as the starter against New York, before being carted into the locker room with an ankle injury.

Foreman has started 62 games during six NFL seasons; three seasons with the Texans and three with the Bills. He was acquired by the Texans in a trade with Buffalo for RB Charlie Rodgers on April 17, 2002. Foreman was originally drafted by Buffalo in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft.
The Texans promoted LB Shantee Orr from the practice squad to the active roster to replace Foreman. Orr is familiar with the transition from the practice squad to the active roster. Last season, he was elevated from the practice squad on Nov. 16 and recorded nine tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery.
