Texans sign eight to practice squad

Defensive end Jesse Nading joins the practice squad after showing promising skills in game action last season.

The Texans signed the following eight players to their practice squad Sunday:

Davis(5-9, 250) was drafted in the third round (69th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He has spent time with the Cardinals, Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts in his career. He played in six games with the Colts in 2008.

Foster (6-1, 224) was signed by the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee on May 6, 2009. As a senior in 2008, Foster gained 570 rushing yards and 166 receiving yards with one touchdown for the Volunteers.

Helms (6-2, 295) joined the Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2009 out of LSU. The native of Pine Bluff, Ark., started 41 games during his college career.

Jamison (6-3, 270) also signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2009 from Michigan. He was voted All-Big Ten Honorable Mention as a senior and finished seventh in career sacks (20.0) for the Wolverines.

Jenkins (5-10, 190) is in his second season with the Texans after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (Fla.) on May 8, 2008. He played in one game for the Texans last year at Oakland.

Nading (6-5, 268) played in six games as a rookie for the Texans in 2008 after spending the first 11 weeks of the season on the practice squad. He signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent from Colorado State on May 8, 2008.

Parson (5-10, 188) signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Texans on June 5, 2009. He attended Ohio University, where he was a three-year starter. At his college pro day workout, he reportedly ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash.

Stenavich (6-4, 305) is a former Michigan Wolverines standout who the Texans signed to their practice squad on Sept. 1, 2008. Stenavich has spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.
