Texans sign Quinn to practice squad; release McClain

HOUSTON -The Houston Texans signed LB Shantee Orr from the practice squad last Sunday. To make room on the roster, the Texans have released LB Jimmy McClain. QB Mike Quinn was signed to the practice squad to fill Orr's spot.

Quinn (6-4, 216) has played for four NFL teams (Houston-2002, Miami-2000, Dallas-1998-99, Pittsburgh-1997). He was signed as one of the Texans first free agents on 9/21/01. He spent the 2002 season as the Texans third quarterback and was inactive for all 16 games. After a standout collegiate career at Stephen F. Austin, Quinn was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
