HOUSTON - The Houston Texans have signed third-round draft pick WR DeVier Posey. Posey was one of two third-round draft picks for the Texans and is the seventh of the eight draft picks to sign with the team.

Posey (6-1, 208) was taken with the 68th overall pick out of Ohio State. He ranked seventh in school history with 136 receptions, and was eighth with 1,955 yards receiving in his four-year career for the Buckeyes.

"I think he's got the ability to one day be a starter in this league," Texans wide receivers coach Larry Kirksey said. "I think he'll be able to contribute and be a starter in this league and be very efficient."

Posey, who started 29-of-41 games in his career, had five career 100-yard receiving games, including three during his junior season. He earned All-Big Ten honorable mention as a junior after starting all 13 games and finishing second on the team with 53 receptions for 848 yards and seven touchdowns. Posey led the Buckeyes with 60 receptions as a sophomore, good for 828 yards and eight touchdowns.

Posey sat out 10 games his senior season due to suspension, but he managed 12 receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns in three games.
