The Houston Texans defense picked off Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston twice in as many drives to start the Week 16 game at Tampa Bay.
On the opening series, Bradley Roby scored on a pick-six to give Houston an early 7-0 lead. The sixth-year cornerback intercepted Winston's pass, intended for Justin Watson, on the third play of the game. Roby returned the ball 28 yards for a score, the third touchdown of his NFL career and first as a Texan.
On the Buccaneer's next possession, Justin Reid picked off Winston on third-and-6 and returned it for touchdown but was called back.
An illegal block penalty nullified the score, giving Houston possession at the Tampa Bay 24-yard line. Kaimi Fairbairn kicked a 32-yard field goal as the Texans took a 10-0 lead with 11:34 left in the first quarter.
Winston, who ranks second in the NFL in touchdowns, currently leads the league with 26 interceptions. The Texans have recorded 10 interceptions this season.
