D'Onta Foreman “in good shape” this offseason

D’Onta Foreman has made significant progress in his recovery from a season-ending Achilles surgery in 2017, according to general manager Brian Gaine. The third-year running back, who saw action in just one game of the regular season as well as the Wild Card loss, is now back for the team’s nine-week offseason workout program.

“He’s come back in good shape,” Gaine said Thursday. “He had an unfortunate situation. Very difficult injury to return from as it relates to the running back position, so we’re pleased with his progress. It looks like he has put in the time and the commitment to be ready to go when we got here, got back here for the first day of the offseason program. I’ve been pleased with what I’ve seen, but there’s a lot of football left to be played, there’s a lot of offseason left to complete, but so far so good in terms of getting off on the right foot.”

Foreman was putting in work before the offseason program began, posting some of his workouts on social media.

Foreman spent most of the 2018 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list before being activated on Dec. 4. Texans players are currently in Phase 1 of the league’s nine-week offseason workout program.
