The second day of the 2025 NFL Draft started without much fuss. The Texans held the 34th pick and used it to select Iowa State WR Jayden Higgins.
Before the dust had settled on that selection, however, Executive VP/General Manager Nick Caserio was back on the phones, making a deal that put the Texans in the 48th slot where they took University of Minnesota OL Aireontae Ersery.
Ersery's path the NFL is an incredible story, and he will arrive in Houston to be part of an offensive line featuring many new faces from a busy offseason.
After a brief lull, the Texans picked up the other half of Iowa State's incredible receiving duo, Jaylin Noel.
It seemed like Houston's busy night was winding down, but Caserio kept closing deals.
First he hopped back to the 102nd pick at the end of the third round by swapping picks with Jacksonville. Then he made a deal with the Minnesota Vikings to slip back up to pick No. 97 where the Texans snagged USC CB Jaylin Smith, a former teammate of standout S Calen Bullock.
Houston closes Day 2 with five picks in the final four rounds of the draft.
But if Day 1 and 2 are any indication, Day 3 could go many directions. Get ready, Texans fans!
