Texans re-sign TE Ryan Griffin

HOUSTON** – The Houston Texans re-signed unrestricted free agent TE Ryan Griffin. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Griffin, who played in all 16 games (five starts) in 2016, set career highs in receptions (50), receiving yards (442) and tied his career high with two touchdown receptions. In Week 15 vs. Jacksonville, he set a single-game career high in receiving yards (85) and tied his single-game career high in receptions (eight). Griffin was drafted in the sixth round (201st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Connecticut and has compiled 99 receptions, 1,028 receiving yards (10.4 avg.) and six touchdowns in 56 games (19 starts) with the Texans.
