Young Texans fan featured in Super Bowl commercial

Fifth grader Xander Richardson's sizzle reel of football highlights was so impressive, it earned him a spot in a Super Bowl commercial this Sunday.

Richardson, who attends RED Elementary School, plays running back and outside linebacker for the Shadow Creek Titans. As part of the league's celebration of its 100th season, the NFL held an open casting call for youth flag/tackle players to be featured during Super Bowl LIV. Richardson won and was named the Houston Texans winner for the NFL's Next 100 Super Bowl Contest.

When the NFL asked why the Texans were his favorite team, he said, "It's in my blood. I love the Texans." His favorite players are Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, Whitney Mercilus and J.J. Watt.

The Houston native also won a trip to Miami to experience the culmination of the NFL's 100th season with tickets to Super Bowl LIV as well as visits to Super Bowl Experience, Super Bowl Live and some other special surprises. The mission of the Next 100 Super Bowl contest was to inspire the next generation of players and introduce fans to those who may play a role in growing the game over the next 100 seasons.

With the help of Deshaun Watson and Papa John's, the Houston Texans congratulated Richardson for being the Texans winner of the Next 100 Super Bowl Contest.
